"Erica began dancing at the age of two and a half at Tammie Locklar's Dance Studio in Odessa, Texas. There, she trained in a variety of dance styles and was introduced to the world of competitive dance in the fourth grade.
In sixth grade, she transitioned to En Croix Dance Studio, a Christian-based studio where she discovered how faith and dance could be intertwined. During her time there, Erica built a strong technical foundation across multiple dance genres while growing both artistically and spiritually. En Croix also provided her with the opportunity to travel across the country and train at nationally recognized dance conventions, including Streetz, DanceMakers, Revolution, Celebrity, Elevation, Radix, and Monsters.
Upon entering high school, Erica joined the Odessa High School Showgirl Dance Team, where she further developed her hip-hop training and leadership skills. She made program history as the first sophomore to serve as lieutenant, was named co-captain during her junior year, and served as captain during her senior year. Throughout her four years on the team, she helped lead the Showgirls to four consecutive National Championships at the American Drill Team National Competition.
Erica's dedication, technical ability, and leadership were recognized through numerous individual honors. She was named Most Valuable Performer (MVP) for three consecutive years, from her sophomore through senior year, and also received the Best Turns Award each of those three years, recognizing her excellence in technical execution. As a senior, she received the Golden Heart Award, presented to the Showgirl who exemplifies the greatest dedication to the team, as well as the Jennifer Aguirre Essay Scholarship, which recognizes the Showgirl who best demonstrates outstanding character, integrity, and strong moral values.
Erica is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Public Health at Texas A&M University. During the 2024–2025 season, she was a member of Fade to Black, Texas A&M's premier hip-hop dance team, where she continued to refine her performance skills and grow as both a dancer and teammate. Following graduation, she plans to pursue a Master of Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in Hospital Administration, combining her passion for healthcare leadership with her commitment to serving others.
Erica is passionate about using dance to inspire and uplift others while encouraging confidence, discipline, and self-expression. Her years of technical training, leadership experience, and commitment to excellence have shaped her into a well-rounded dancer and mentor. She is dedicated to creating a positive and encouraging environment where dancers can grow not only in their technique but also in their confidence, character, and love for the art of dance."
